This City

It is beautiful

It took some time of living here but today I have begun to really appreciate the beauty and the history of this city. It is as if I can hear the city talking to me, telling me its stories, its victories and its great losses. I can see now the marks of these myths like scars across the face of this town. I can feel the slow steady rhythm, the metronome tick of city’s flow. While LA is irregular like the ocean with tides and waves- here it is steady and slow the pressing forge of the factory floor.

I travel now for work frequently so I find myself living in other cities for long periods, but when I return home, I feel comforted by that steady beating of this old monarch.

I was walking this evening and was taken aback by the beauty of the setting sun over the ancient spires and masonry. The grid, glowing in the fading light, is a tapestry woven with so many stories, so much mystery, so much to be discovered.

I love it here.
